DJ Laptop Repairs

What causes laptop liquid or motherboard damage?

As you can imagine, the main cause of liquid damaged laptops is an accidental spill, flooding or being caught out in the rain. The liquid can cause a variety of issues to the chips and electronics of the motherboard including corrosion and chip failure.

How do we repair laptop liquid or motherboard damage?

We complete these repairs on a case-by-case basis. Liquid damage has a varying severity depending on factors like how much liquid is on the board, the actions taken after the liquid damage happened and what parts of the electronics the liquid has affected as well as when it occurred such as was it during the evening, at a gig or over the weekend, during these times and due to the time passing 99% of DJ Laptops sadly are beyond economical repair. We can assist with data recovery of your files and music if this is possible but this does not always prove successful

We then strip the laptop down so we can inspect the internal components. We clean as we go to get rid of any dust or dirt that may have gotten into the casing and also remove any signs of corrosion as best we can. If there is a clear water-damaged section we will concentrate our efforts there. If Corrosion is present again it is unlikely we can repair the system. All systems  are different so we assess each on its own case

*Some problems are more tricky and time consuming than others. Most routine repairs are completed quickly but some can take weeks. We will advise if there is a to be a delay.
